European Merchant Services (EMS) was formed in June 2005 as a joint venture between First Data, and International Card Services (ICS). EMS broadened their expertise in payment solutions from the Dutch/Belgian Point-of-Sale segment to Europe-wide e-commerce solutions. EMS services (e-)merchants in 11 European countries and continues to expand its scope.
