Absa Bank deploys voice biometrics for phone banking transactions

South African bank Absa has implemented a voice biometrics solution to verify private banking clients’ identities when they try to execute phone banking transactions through the bank’s call centre.

According to the company, the newly deployed service is meant at upgrading customers’ security and provide a seamless banking-by-phone experience.

In May 2015, Investec Private Bank became the first bank to bring voice biometrics to South Africa’s banking industry.
