Bridge Community Bank, Tascet to add biometric security in branches

Friday 25 January 2013 09:40 CET | News

Financial institution Bridge Community Bank has inked a contract with e-identity service provider Tascet to adopt the latter’s Financial ICONN, a proprietary privacy solution that will streamline the bank’s physical and online customer identification and identity verification processes.

Starting with 2013, both current and new account holders will be able to request a Financial ICONN at each of the bank’s locations in the cities of Mount Vernon, Solon and Mechanicsville, Iowa. Each branch will be equipped with Tascet’s ICONN system that will enable customers to secure their identity and receive transaction privacy.

To get an Iconn, customers have to submit fingerprint and facial biometric data as well as their name, address, date and country of birth and gender. Tascet uses this data to generate a 16-digit financial security number which is linked to the customer account. To identify themselves in a branch and carry out transactions, customers will only have to provide their name and fingerprint.
