Google claims Android malware dropped for 2014

Friday 3 April 2015 11:59 CET | News

Google has released its Android Security State of the Union for 2014 and has found that malware installations were down by half of what they were in 2013.

According to AndroidCentral, Google found that fewer than 1% of Android devices had a potentially harmful app installed in 2014 and that fewer than 0.15% of devices that only install from Google Play had a PHA installed.

Another Google Play-related issue encountered recently is related to paid apps that offer to do security scans for one’s phone but that in reality do not do anything.
