Secure Electrans receives Common Criteria IT Security award

UK-based payments technology company Secure Electrans has been granted the Common Criteria IT Security award for its online Chip&PIN service HomePay.

The global recognition for HomePay will enable Secure Electrans to deploy in the countries that form the Common Criteria forum.The Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation scheme was developed by the governments of the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany and the Netherlands in order to create a unified and consistent framework for the evaluation and assurance IT Security. Governments aim to increase transparency and raise standards while mitigating cross-border barriers to market for new IT Security products. India has also announced that they will be joining this week, bringing the total number of member countries to 26.

The award has been granted at this year’s International Common Criteria Conference (ICCC) held in Orlando, Florida.

In recent news, Secure Electrans has received the government’s support for its chip&PIN home terminal as a practical way to reduce fraud.
