SecureKey Technologies, a Canadian online authentication services provider, has joined the Open Identity Exchange(OIX), a US-based non-profit organization aimed at building trust in the exchange of online identity credentials across public and private sectors.

As a board member of the OIX, SecureKey will help shape a market infrastructure for online trust with the development of a new trust framework. SecureKey will also leverage the OIX collaborative model to test the interoperability of business, legal and/or technical concepts and theories in real-world use cases.

SecureKey develops hardware and software solutions that extend the power of chip-based identity and payment credentials to online and mobile transactions. briidge.net identity and authentication platform enables people to use devices and credentials they already have to perform two-factor authentication via online or mobile channels.

OIX builds a system of protocols and processes to enable identity service providers and relying parties to interact within a framework. OIX develops in response to the White House’s National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) initiative.
