ValidSoft joins FIDO Alliance for authentication methodologies

Thursday 5 December 2013 00:29 CET | News

ValidSoft, a global supplier of advanced telecommunications-based fraud prevention, has joined FIDO Alliance to support, create and adopt new authentication methodologies.

FIDOs goal is to develop industry standards that increase compatibility and reduce reliance on usernames and passwords to authenticate online users. Passwords would instead be replaced by low-friction authentication methods embedded in device hardware, a philosophy already reflected in ValidSofts multi-factor mutual authentication, identity and transaction verification solutions which also incorporate features such as voice biometrics and location proximity.

The FIDO Alliance was formed in July 2012 to address the lack of interoperability among authentication technologies and remedy the problems users face with creating and remembering multiple usernames and passwords.

ValidSoft provides mobile- and cloud-security solutions. ValidSoft has developed a custom-built multi-factor authentication platform (SMART) for the mobile world, which takes advantage of mobile telecommunication channels and devices and includes a voice biometric engine.

In recent news, ValidSoft has been selected by Ven, a global virtual currency managed by the Hub Culture Group, for its Secure Mobile Architecture for Real-Time Transactions (SMART) product, to underpin its own consumer offerings in social networking and virtual exchange.
