Pakistani financial services provider United Bank Limited (UBL) has teamed up with electricity distribution company Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) to provide an online bill payment service for residents of Faisalabad, Pakistans third largest city.

Under the terms of the agreement between the parties, UBL customers who employ the bank’s Netbanking online banking portal can pay their FESCO bills directly from their online accounts. Representatives of UBL and FESCO have indicated that the new online bill payment service aims to allow customers to save time by carrying out internet-based utility payments instead of queuing at branch offices.

UBL has also announced that it is planning to make the FESCO bill payment service available to both cardholders and users of the UBL Orion mobile banking service.
