e-Commerce Polska joins Ecommerce Europe

Tuesday 18 June 2013 14:15 CET | News

Polish e-commerce industry organisation e-Commerce Polska has joined Ecommerce Europe, the new European umbrella organisation for webshops.

As a member of Ecommerce Europe, e-Commerce Polska will provide Polish e-retailers with an active presence in Brussels.

e-Commerce Polska was founded by 33 major e-commerce companies based in Poland and already represents the interests of almost 100 members. It claims to reach “over 500 e-commerce market influencers” through the Digital Market Development Foundation’s Digital Economy Club.

Poland is one of the fastest-growing e-commerce markets in the EU, with goods and services worth EUR 4.2 billion in 2012 sold online to consumers, up 25 percent on the previous year. Almost 50 percent of Polish internet-users have already made purchases online, amounting to 9 million active e-shoppers in Poland. However, at EUR 464 in 2012, the average annual amount spent per e-shopper is still below the European average.
