India Post inks deal with Snapdeal, Shopclues

India Post has signed a memorandum of understanding with local ecommerce companies Snapdeal and Shopclues, to develop ecommerce logistics.

Via the deal, India Post will provide the online marketplaces with logistics services throughout India, iamwire.com reports. According to a note from India Post, it is in the process of inducting new-age technology through an enterprise wide IT project, which will bring in electronic connectivity and capability across 1.5 lakhs post offices for the delivery of all mail and financial services.

In recent news, Chinese ecommerce company Alibaba has revealed that it is currently in talks with Indian ecommerce website Snapdeal to enter the Indian market.
