ViPoint.ru, Kupivkredit partner to offer credits for Russians cross-border online purchases

Cross-border sales operator ViPoint.ru has closed a partnership with Kupivkredit, a subsidiary of the Tinkoff Credit Systems bank, to allow its Russian customers to purchase goods from the US online retailers on credit.

Credit amounts will range from USD 100 (RUB 3,000) to USD 6,000 (RUB 200,000).

ViPoint is an online marketplace that offers online shoppers from Russia, Belorussia and Kazakhstan access to 200 million products of all kinds from car parts to consumer electronics, to fashion items and collectibles.

The market of cross-border sales to Russia could near USD 3 billion in 2013, almost doubling from 2012, according to a study by East-West Digital News. Russian consumers appreciate foreign retailers’ diversified assortment and have so far virtually tax-free purchases.
