Job description
Position Summary
Analyze user requirements and prepare functional and software specifications for software systems solutions. Design, develop, program and test software to satisfy requirements. Ensure the development of quality systems within established guidelines and time frames.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze systems requirements, prepares functional and software specifications.
Evaluate specifications and prepare estimates for systems/applications development work.
Analyze requirements; produce requirements documents.
Gather information, define work problems, design software solution and produce high-level and detailed design documents.
Write required software.
Develop test plans, prepare test data, and test and debug software.
Interface with other functional areas and customers as appropriate to gather requirements, investigate issues, and design software.
Actively participate in project status meetings and project reviews.
Comply with departmental software engineering policies and procedures. Participate in process and quality improvement initiatives.
Create and install procedures to assist in system implementation.
Recommend software modifications or additions to enable an efficient and effective systems/application implementation.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Senior Software Engineer
Performs complex, high impact software development tasks.
Determines and develops approaches to assignments.
Leads development projects.
Demonstrates expertise in all phases of systems analysis and the software development process.
Works independently.

Knowledge and Experience
BSCS, related BS degree or equivalent experience..
Requires a minimum of 7 years experience related SW development experience.
Technical programming knowledge of embedded payment applications.

Minimum 1 year experience programming in C, C++, JAVA, and Visual Basic
Linux knowledge and some development experience a plus

Object-oriented analysis and design experience
Advanced knowledge of wireless communications protocols.
