MiFon combines a Banorte deposit account linked to a MasterCard debit card, with mobile payments services and a nationwide network of bank agents. MiFon users will be able to withdraw funds at any Banorte ATM and send money from one account to another using their mobile phones. All mobile services are available via SMS text messages.
Banorte and Rev Worldwide first partnered in January 2012 to launch a new financial services program dubbed MiFon for consumers with limited access to basic financial services.
