Friday 18 October 2013 00:02 CET | News

Australian financial institution Commonwealth Bank has enhanced its CommBank app and unveiled two new NFC (Near Field Communication) payment solutions that are set to enhance the way customers pay for everyday goods and services by enabling contactless payments through the CommBank application on their smartphone.

The CommBank PayTag ‘smart’ sticker can be attached to customers’ smartphones to enable them to make contactless payments of up to USD 100 in value.

The CommBank app will enable customers to pay on-the-go, do their banking anywhere and check a balance with a swipe on their phone (no PIN required), pay bills via a QR code, pay someone back using their mobile number, email, Facebook contact or via Bump and find the nearest ATM or branch.

In May 2013, Commonwealth Bank unveiled a BPAY QR code reader and card PIN and activation functionality available on CommBank Kaching for iPhone.
