Monday 23 September 2013 00:48 CET | News

UK mobile ticketing technology company Corethree has closed a partnership with financial services company Barclays for the inclusion of Barclays Pingit ‘mobile check-out’ in Corethree’s award winning mobile wallet for transport ticketing.

Wessex Bus’ Uniconnect network in Bath is set to go live with Corethree’s m-ticketing solution as part of Bath University’s freshers’ week. Over the next 12 months, Corethree and Barclays will roll out their mobile payment services to other transport operators to reach as many as 1 million passenger journeys per day.

The service will be available via iPhone and Android devices on any mobile network, allowing bus passengers to browse, select, purchase and use bus tickets from their own mobile devices.

In recent news, Barclays has enhanced its mobile payments app, Pingit, adding an option to pay for items via an app or a mobile website.
