Danske Bank to launch a mobile payment service in Lithuania

Monday 28 October 2013 10:31 CET | News

Danish financial institution Danske Bank has unveiled plans to launch a mobile payment service in Lithuania.

With the use of this service, bank transfers will be completed by entering the required amount and the beneficiary’s telephone number in a smartphone application. The application is set to enable customers to pay for items purchased jointly, share the bill, or transfer money.

In order to start using the mobile payment service, customers are required to select this service on Danske eBank, which links the application on the telephone to the bank account.

The mobile payment service is provided by Danske Bank in collaboration with the Mokipay mobile wallet.

In January 2013, Finnish IT, e-invoicing and consulting services provider Tieto and Danske Bank entered an agreement to cooperate in sales of electronic invoicing service solutions. In addition to electronic invoicing, the collaboration covers invoice printing, scanning, archiving and presentation services.
