Cypress Semiconductor, a US-based semiconductor design and manufacturing company, has entered a strategic alliance with Ezetap, a Bangalore-based mPOS services provider.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ezetap is set to use Cypress’s CapSense Express controllers in a capacitive-touch-based PIN-pad in its new mPOS device.

The Cypress’s CY8CMBR2016 matrix keypad offering provides the Ezetap mPOS device with CapSense Express Mechanical Button Replacement (MBR) service, enabling it to pass the EMVCo and Payment Card Industry (PCI) global certifications required for PIN entry devices.

In recent news, Ezetap has launched a new mobile point-of-sale device that consists of a card reader that can be plugged into any smart device or feature phone used by a retailer.
