Germany-based electronic payment services provider Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) has launched a mobile payment sticker dubbed SECCOS Mobile in Germany, online media outlet mobilepaymentstoday.com reports.

According to the source, the SECCOS Mobile payment sticker is certified for the MasterCard contactless payment method PayPass. Cardholders using the G&D stickers as a MasterCard credit card can make payments at contactless PayPass payment terminals. All transactions made this way are listed on the user’s credit card bill. For amounts up to EUR 25, there is no need to enter a PIN or provide a signature. For amounts above EUR 25, the issuing bank determines whether authentication by PIN or signature is required.

In recent news, US semiconductor provider for security services NXP has entered an agreement with Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) to enable the latter to integrate NXPs MIFARE technology into its portfolio of SIM products.
