Global mobile payment technology to launch in Australian schools

Australian financial institution Commonwealth Bank has launched a mobile payment technology, dubbed QkR, for all Australian schools.

Launched in partnership with MasterCard, QkR provides schools with a low cost entry point into mobile payments.

The QkR technology was piloted across 8 schools in Victoria since July 2013. It is currently in use by approximately 17 schools across Australia and is now available for schools to implement nationwide.

In recent news, Commonwealth Bank has launched a mobile banking and payment solution with the release of its CommBank app for iPhone.
