Swedish social payments company iZettle has entered a definitive agreement with Spanish financial services provider Banco Santander.

Under the terms of the agreement, iZettle is set to launch its services in Brazil. Thus, individuals and small businesses from Brazil are set to be able to take card payments with their Apple and Android smartphones and tablets by ordering the iZettle Chip & Signature reader.

iZettle provides hardware and software that can be used by small merchants to turn smartphones and tablets into mobile credit-card terminals. iZettle’s services are compliant with EMV (Europay, MasterCard and VISA) standards as well as with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). No sensitive data is stored on the mobile device or iZettle reader, and all data traffic is encrypted.

In recent news, iZettle received Visa Ready approval for its Chip & PIN and Chip & Signature mobile payments solutions, making the iZettle mPOS solutions software and hardware Visa Ready across Visa territories.
