Korea: Citibank, KT to roll out contactless mobile payments

Citibank Korea, a global financial services company Citibank, has closed a deal with Korean wireless services provider KT to launch Citi Mobile Card, an application designed to enable users to download Citi credit cards wirelessly to a mobile phone USIM chip.

With the recenlty-developed Citi Mobile Card product, consumers will be able to make contactless payments at the point of sale using their mobile phones. Moreover, the application allows users to combine credit payments, coupon downloads as well as KT member discounts on their 3G mobile devices.

Payments made using the Citi Mobile Card application will be accepted at any merchant with a MasterCard Paypass or Visa Paywave-enabled terminal.
