UK-based financial institution Lloyds Banking Group has partnered with mobile financial technology company Monitise to develop a suite of mobile card acceptance solutions for micro-merchants, start-ups and small business owners.

The partnership is set to provide a suite of mobile payments products beginning with autumn 2013. The mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) solution will enable micro-merchants, start-ups and small business owners to accept payments. In addition, this partnership provides the basis to offer additional mobile banking services and business solutions in the future.

In recent news, Monitise has launched a white-labelled mobile payment service dubbed Monitise mPOS that enables banks, mobile operators and acquirers to provide their business customers with the ability to accept card payments on a mobile device.
