Mobile Money Network launches instant mobile checkout service

Monday 7 November 2011 14:05 CET | News

Mobile Money Network (MMN) has launched its Simply Tap instant mobile checkout service. MMN is a joint venture of UK-based mobile financial technology company Monitise, Best Buy Europe and Charles Dunstone, founder of UK independent mobile phone retailer The Carphone Warehouse.

Monitise has developed the technology platform for the launch, while Carphone Warehouse has integrated Simply Tap in order to allow its customers to use their mobile devices to make purchases.

Simply Tap is expected to require that customers go through a one-off registration process to provide information such as preferred card details and delivery address. Customers can then use the Simply Tap service to order products by tapping a code into their mobile phones.

The Mobile Money Network is currently working on developing a second version of Simply Tap, which is set to have image recognition features.

MMN’s Simply Tap is available for Android and Apple devices.
