MoneyGram, FNB launch mobile money transfer service in South Africa

MoneyGram and South African financial services provider First National Bank (FNB) have launched a mobile money transfer service in Africa, enabling FNB account holders to send and receive international money transfers using their mobile devices.

Transactions sent from a mobile device are available for collection within minutes, subject to an agent’s hours of operation and local laws and regulations.

MoneyGram provides its online service to consumers through strategic relationships and agents in the US, UK and Germany. MoneyGram is a money transfer company that provides bill payment services in the US and Canada and money transfer services worldwide through a global network of more than 310,000 agent locations in 197 countries and territories.

In recent news, MoneyGram has entered into an agreement with Univision Enterprises, a division of Univision Communications, a media company serving Hispanic America, to create a MoneyGram link on Univision’s MasterCard Prepaid Card “Tarjeta Prepagada“page.
