UK-based mobile financial technology company Monitise has entered an agreement with IBM, whose Smarter Commerce solution enables Visa to deploy Monitises cloud-based banking, payment and commerce services to customers on mobile devices.

By supporting Monitise solutions with IBMs Smarter Commerce initiative, member banks from Visa Europe can accelerate the deployment of a broad range of mobile services on all types of devices. These mobile services enable its customers to manage their money, make transactions and connect with retailers from their mobile devices.

Monitises Bank Anywhere, Pay Anyone and Buy Anything solutions form the basis of Visa Europes forthcoming mobile offerings that will provide banking services used by consumers today on any mobile device. This includes applications for customers to manage money in their accounts, payment services to transfer money and pay other individuals; and transaction services to buy products from retailers, either online or in-store.

IBM will provide software, technology services and consulting, including IBM Mobile First solutions, to help power the Monitise mobile services for Visa Europe.

In recent news, Monitise has revealed in a trading update that its full-year 2013 revenue has reached at least GBP 70 million compared to GBP 36 million in 2012. Monitises 2013 full-year results are scheduled to be published in early September 2013.
