Nuance powers Price Check by Amazon mobile app

Wednesday 24 November 2010 11:34 CET | News

Global speech, imaging and customer interaction services provider Nuance Communications has powered the voice search features of the Price Check by Amazon app for iPhone, available in the Apple app store.

As a result, Price Check by Amazon has implemented the same core voice technology found in the Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search apps. Price Check by Amazon is expected to allow users to utter the name of any product when they are shopping, in order to receive instant prices for that item on Amazon.com.

In addition, the app is set to allow users to scan a barcode, snap a picture or type a product name to return product matches and pricing from Amazon.com and its other online merchants.

Nuance’s mobile voice technology is expected to bring Dragon NaturallySpeaking service to the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad across several applications and services, including mobile and e-commerce apps like Price Check by Amazon.
