PayPal Australia and Tyro join forces in mobile payments space

Thursday 4 June 2015 10:02 CET | News

Online payments company PayPal Australia has inked a partnership with merchant credit, debit and EFTPOS acquiring company Tyro Payments.

This deal sees the launch of Tyro Mobile, a payment solution that aims to enable Australia’s small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to meet consumer demand for mobile payment facilities via the PayPal Australia consumer app.

The launch of Tyro Mobile also means its merchants are ready to accept mobile payments made from digital wallets like PayPal, as well as from other mobile-based payment types in the future – such as Samsung Pay.
