US mobile banking services provider Firethorn, a Qualcomm company, has entered an agreement with Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU) to provide the latter with its mobile banking services. PSECU has over 365,000 members and over USD 3 billion in credit union assets.

In 2010, PSECU is set to offer Firethorns mobile banking application and SMS service to its members. Using the Firethorn mobile banking service, as well as the PSECU-branded iPhone application, members will be able to check their balances, pay bills, transfer funds and see account histories from their mobile device.

In addition to the mobile banking application, Firethorns solution will provide PSECU members with SMS capabilities, giving them access to their financial account information via balance and transaction history requests.

Firethorns mobile banking application gives financial institutions a suite of mobile banking capabilities, enabling end-users to view account balances, check credit card balances, transfer funds among their bank accounts, and view and pay bills. The application also provides access to services such as loyalty programs, targeted offers and peer-to-peer payments.
