PrivatBank rolls out mPOS offering for small businesses in Russia, the Ukraine

Ukrainian financial services provider PrivatBank has made available a new mobile POS offering for small business. The service allows allowing smartphone owners to accept credit card payments by scanning cards via a smartphone’s in-built camera using a dedicated application dubbed iPay.

PrivatBank thus became the first Eurasian Bank to introduce optical character recognition technology. Contactless mobile acquiring is available to the bank’s corporate and private clients in the Ukraine and Russia. To start using the service, users have to download the application and connect it to the iPay card or account to which payments will be credited.
