Financial institution Suncorp Bank has unveiled that it will soon support contactless mobile payments on Apple iOS and Google Android devices, computerworld.com.au reports.

According to the source, the financial services provider is planning to roll out their contactless payments in their banking app for selective Android devices in 2015.

Suncorp will also be working with relevant parties to enable their cards for Apple Pay when it becomes available in Australia, the source adds.

Suncorp’s move into NFC follows a trial with peer-to-peer payments using SMS and QR codes.
