Supermarket chain Migros launches mobile payment initiative

Customers of Swiss retailer Migros are now able to pay via smartphone in all of its stores.

The service, launched on August 20, 2015, requires customers to install the Migros App on their smartphone in addition to depositing an account with Migros bank or a Cumulus credit card.

Payment is effected via a QR code. The user opens the app at the till, retrieves the code and hands it over to the cashier to scan.
