Thursday 3 January 2013 10:44 CET | News

Singapore-based mobile payments and commerce services provider Tagit has entered a partnership with Vietnamese payment switch operator Smartlink to provide mobile services to bank card users.

The new service allows payment networks to provide mobile solutions and enables member banks to offer mobile services to clients. The first bank under the Smartlink network to provide the services through the platform is Vietcombank.

Additionally, the new VCB mobile banking application allows customers to perform banking transactions, which include account information query, funds transfer within the Vietcombank system, bill payments and top-ups for prepaid mobile services. The application will be supported by all mobile networks in Vietnam and is compatible across mobile operating systems, including iOS, Android, Blackberry and Java-based OSes.

In March 2012, Tagit has entered a partnership with Kuwait-based payment switch provider Knet to roll out the latters mobile payment service through its Tasdeed service to enable e-government, telecom and mobile payments.
