TD Canada Trust adds NFC-based mobile payments to its Android app

Monday 12 May 2014 00:37 CET | News

TD Canada Trust has added the ability for Rogers, Bell and TELUS customers to make credit card purchases using an NFC-compatible Android device.

TD has partnered with all three carriers for NFC-based credit card purchases. Similar to other forms of contactless mobile payments, users must have an NFC SIM card and a compatible device to use the service. For security reasons, most merchants limit purchases to between USD 50 and USD 100.

Only five devices are currently supported, including the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One M7.
