US Bank joins forces with Western Union

US Bank and Western Union have entered an agreement to extend Western Union Money Transfer services to US Bank customers via online banking as well as through mobile banking.

Under the agreement, US Bank is set to integrate the Western Union global money transfer capability into its mobile banking application.

To use the product, one must be a customer of US Bank for at least a year and have a registered mobile phone and eligible deposit account (chequing or savings).

US Bank has offered Western Union Money Transfer services through its branches since 2009 enabling its customers to send money to approximately 500,000 Agent locations in 200 countries and territories.

In recent news, Western Union has entered into an agreement with ChinaPay, the online payments subsidiary of Chinese bank card organisation China UnionPay (CUP), to launch a new program that will allow international bank transfers there from 23 countries.
