Wireless transactions provider USA Technologies (USAT) and Isis, a US mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, have launched a mobile payment and loyalty program for the US vending industry.

The USAT mobile payment and loyalty program will integrate USAT’s installed base of NFC-enabled cashless payment terminals with Isis’ SmartTap mobile commerce technology, for rewards acceptance and redemption. The Isis Mobile Wallet enables mobile payments through an NFC-ready terminal and allows consumers to redeem offers and loyalty with the tap of their smartphone.

Under the ‘Fifth Vend Free’ promotion being announced by USAT and Isis, customers would be eligible to receive free products from vending operators based upon loyalty rewards earned by using the Isis Mobile Wallet to pay for a purchase at a qualifying terminal.

USA Technologies has 100,000 M2M connections to their ePort Connect service. The company provides small-ticket, wireless, non-cash transaction services to businesses and industries including kiosks, hospitality, digital imaging and the vending machine industry.

In recent news, USA Technologies (USAT) has entered an agreement with ice vending company Ice House America to provide the latter with its ePort and ePort Connect cashless payment and telemetry services.
