Egyptian Fawry to establish m-payment infrastructure with M-Com Wednesday 29 April 2009 | 02:51 PM CET

Egyptian electronic bill payment and presentment (EBPP) network Fawry has partnered with provider of mobile commerce services M-Com to set up mobile banking and payments infrastructure services in the Middle East. Initially, the services will be offered to the Egyptian market and then to other Middle Eastern jurisdictions in 2010.

Based on M-Com's mobile payments and banking service, Fawry’s banking and payment technology services BankAnywhere will enable banks to offer mobile payment, alerting and banking services to their customer base.

Fawry Mobile will initially offer bill presentment and payment, top-up services, access to bank account information, as well as account and risk-based alerts on a multi-lingual basis. Also included in the service will be an array of enrollment, billing and customer management options, enabling banks to universally introduce their customers to mobile financial services through their existing banking channels of choice.
