Emirati transport authority RTA, Etisalat launch m-parking in Dubai Monday 4 May 2009 | 02:54 PM CET

Emirati Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has partnered with mobile operator Etisalat to introduce an SMS-based mobile parking service in Dubai.

The service enables Etisalat subscribers to pay their parking fees via their mobile phones in some RTA public parking zones in Dubai.

To pay for their parking using this service, customers need to send an SMS to 7275 (PARK) which should include the plate category & number, followed by the area code displayed on the signboard and the parking period. Subsequently, consumers receive an SMS which confirms their transactions and also shows the reserved parking session interval. M-parking payments are deducted from the credit of mobile prepaid accounts or debited to telephone bills.
