US financial and tax preparation software and related services developer Intuit has launched Intuit GoPayment, a services suite which allows small businesses to accept credit card payments via mobile phones.
Intuit GoPayment particularly targets small business owners who commercialise products or services out of the office and require on-the-spot payment. The payment processing service can be accessed by business owners who own an Intuit GoPayment merchant account and functions either through a web-enabled mobile phone or via the downloadable GoPayment application which can be installed onto supported handsets. Business owners can add multiple employees to a single merchant account.
GoPayment users can monitor processed transactions by logging onto Intuit’s online Merchant Service Centre, where they can view transaction reports. They can also choose to acquire a set of optional Bluetooth mobile accessories which include a card swipe for automatic credit card data reading and a printer which allows business owners to print receipts on the spot.
The Intuit GoPayment suite employs 128-bit SSL encryption in order to provide data transmission protection.
