Carrefour to deploy contactless payment technology from Hypercom in France Monday 8 February 2010 | 10:42 AM CET

Global retailer Carrefour has closed a deal with payment technology company Hypercom.

Under the terms of the agreement, Carrefour is set to deploy Hypercom’s Wynid server-based payment solution and more than 12,000 PIN Pads with EMV contactless readers at 210 of its French hypermarkets.

The agreement represents an expansion to Hypercom’s existing business with Carrefour. The retailer already uses Hypercom’s Wynid secure payment solution at 15,000 cash registers in its market, city and contact stores.

These services aim to reduce Carrefour’s cost of accepting non-cash payment options and improve operational efficiency.
