US-based mobile commerce services company Firethorn, a subsidiary of Qualcomm, and US direct banking and payment services provider Discover have unveiled plans to collaborate on Firethorn’s upcoming SWAGG mobile gift card application.
According to the agreement, Discover is set to provide payment processing capabilities to Firethorn’s US retail partners that will distribute the SWAGG service. Recently, clothing manufacturer American Apparel has signed up to become a retail partner for Firethorn's soon to be released SWAGG mobile application.
SWAGG is Firethorn's direct-to-consumer mobile commerce offering. It allows consumers to purchase, personalize and exchange gift cards as well as receive and redeem offers directly from a mobile device. SWAGG will also ensure consumers’ mobile access to account information, special offers and loyalty programs.
