Gemalto provides EMV application for Diners Club Spain Thursday 2 February 2012 | 02:08 PM CET

Dutch digital security company Gemalto is set to make available and deploy its EMV application for Diners Club Spain, a business unit of Diners Club International, in 2012.

Under the agreement, Gemalto is set to provide Diners Club Spain with consulting and personalization services, in addition to Dynamic Data Authentication (DDA) payment cards that are compliant with the Discover Financial Services D-Payment Application Specification (D-PAS).

DDA is an authentication technology whereby the smart card chip creates a signature for each transaction.

Diners Club International, part of Discover Financial Services, is a global payments network with acceptance in more than 185 countries. Gemalto supports Diners Club issuers worldwide with smart banking cards and the associated issuance services.
