MasterCard 2009 net revenue rises 2.1% to hit USD 5.1 billion Monday 8 February 2010 | 08:23 AM CET

MasterCard seen its Q4 2009 net revenue reach USD 1.3 billion, a 6 percent increase compared to the same interval in 2008.

According to MasterCard, the rise in net revenue for the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal was due in part to pricing changes, an increase in cross-border volumes as well as to a 6.7 percent rise in the number of transactions processed (which have reached to 5.9 billion). For Q4 2009, the company also reported net income worth USD 294 million, a 5.3 percent rise in its gross dollar volume and a 5.7 increase in purchase volumes.

For the full year 2009, MasterCard has seen its net revenue reach USD 5.1 billion, a 2.1 percent increase versus 2008, while its net income reached USD 1.5 billion. Increased processed transactions of 6.9 percent and pricing changes of approximately 6 percentage points contributed to the revenue growth in the full-year period.
