Euronet Pakistan, a subsidiary of electronic financial provider Euronet Worldwide, has introduced an EMV debit card in Pakistan in collaboration with financial institution MCB Bank.

As a result of this partnership, Euronet Pakistan becomes the first EMV processor and gateway for EMV VISA debit services in Pakistan.

EMV Debit cards feature an embedded microprocessor which stores, processes and protects cardholder data, including identity and account information.

Before introducing the EMV Debit cards, MCB performed a test to ensure Euronet’s service center, processing systems and operational procedures are compliant with EMV security and regulatory standards.

Pakistan-based company bank MCB has a debit card base of 2.5 million and more than 650 ATMs.
