PayFair, a provider of card payment solutions to the European payment market, is to implement a fully SEPA compliant payment card for European consumers, merchants and banks.
As a result of PayFair`s partnership with Atos Wordline, a provider of electronic payment services, supermarkets in Belgium, including a Colruyt supermarket, have started to accept payments via the PayFair card. Under the terms of the deal, Atos Wordline had to deliver the terminal infrastructure. In early 2010, the PayFair card will also be introduced on the German market, as part of a collaboration with payment services provider easycash, with other European countries, including France and The Netherlands to follow.
PayFair is a European card scheme developed by an independent group of experts from the financial, IT and retailing sectors whose aim is to enable banks to offer consumers and merchants a SEPA compliant European payment method, supporting contactless as well as mobile payments and low value payments.
