French retailer Auchan has selected Ingenico’s iSC250 terminal for the acceptance of Visa cards in Auchan hypermarkets in Russia, in cooperation with Visa and Russian financial services provider Bank VTB24.

Under the agreement, Ingenico’s payment terminals are set to be deployed in all Auchan hypermarkets across Russia by the end of 2012. The iSC250 terminal integrates self-service functions and it is equipped with signature capture technology which allows receipts to be sent with the signature samples to the host server without the need for printing. For low value transactions, the software uses Visa Easy Payments Service which enables payment without requesting the customer's signature.

In recent news, global provider of payment services Ingenico has entered an agreement with Paypal to allow merchants using Ingenico’s POS terminals to accept Paypal payment options. Thus, merchants with Ingenico’s i6xx series and iSc250/iSC350 devices will be able to accept both PayPal’s payment card and its alternative mobile phone number & PIN payment services.
