TNS, Salmat partner to deliver data security services to Tabcorp Monday 23 January 2012 | 01:10 PM CET

Transaction Network Services (TSN), a provider of payment gateway and payment network connectivity services, has partnered Salmat, an Australian-based customer communication service provider.

Under the terms of the agreement, TNS and Salmat will enable Tabcorp, an Australian wagering, gaming and keno operator, to add card data security functionality to its membership and account registration systems. TNS will allow Tabcorp to implement the TNSPay Stored Card Tokenization, a payment technology which exchanges card details of Tabcorp account holders with tokenized data, keeping the actual card details in TNS’ encrypted database.

In addition, as a result of TNS’s partnership with Salmat, Tabcorp will be able to allow customers to register their membership details via a phone keypad. Once the information has been introduced, it will be stored and protected via TNS’ stored card tokenization service.

TNSPay Stored Card Tokenization is a technology which protects cardholder information and allows companies to enable customers to make purchases without re-entering payment details. The stored tokenized information is translated back into usable form for payment authorisation when it is sent to TNS for routing to an acquiring bank. This approach helps ensure that sensitive cardholder information submitted online by Tabcorp customers is stored and protected from mismanagement and potential fraud.

The TNS-operated payments gateway accepts and processes several cards globally, provides multi-currency support for foreign currencies processing and offers connectivity to various Australian and global acquiring institutions. TNS activates in more than 40 countries across North and Latin America, Europe as well as Asia Pacific.
