TSYS, BancorpSouth enter long-term processing deal Friday 20 January 2012 | 01:40 PM CET

Global payment services company TSYS has inked a long-term contract with US-based financial holding company BancorpSouth.

As part of the deal, TSYS will process BancorpSouth’s debit card, consumer and commercial credit card portfolios with a conversion scheduled for early 2012. Additionally, TSYS will also provide card and statement production as well as fraud prevention services.

The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed yet.

BancorpSouth offers traditional retail banking services along with credit card, mortgage, investment, insurance, trust and fiduciary services. The regional bank has USD 13 billion in assets and 286 locations across Southern US.

TSYS Merchant Solutions delivers customizable payment services which allow customers to use credit, debit and prepaid cards at the cash register or online. TSYS Merchant Solutions was formed after TSYS took complete ownership of the First National Merchant Solutions from the US-based financial services provider First National Bank of Omaha.
