3V launches MoneyButton mobile money service

Irish payment services provider 3V Transaction Services has launched a new mobile money service dubbed Moneybutton at the GSMA NFC Summit which takes place in Milan between 22-25 October 2012.

Moneybutton is a virtual Visa or MasterCard account created after in-app or online registration. Consumers can fund the account by bank transfer, payment cards, cash at retail locations or by charging to a customer’s mobile bill.

Consumers can use the account can be used to spend online, with the acceptance provided by the Visa and MasterCard schemes, by NFC on NFC-enabled devices, by QR code or by a linked chip and PIN debit card. Users can also transfer funds in real time. Moneybutton can also include functionalities such as mobile top up, bill pay, direct funds into online gaming or direct transfers to PayPal accounts.

In recent news, 3V Transaction Services has secured EUR 5 million (USD 6.5 million) in a Series B funding round led by Atlanta-based investment firm TTV Capital.
