Online Payments
American Airlines customers can now pay via PayPal when purchasing tickets online Tuesday 11 November 2008 | 11:22 AM CET

American Airlines adds PayPal as a payment option for clients interested in buying tickets on the company's website.

Customers can thus fund purchases from their PayPal account via a credit card, debit card, bank account, or PayPal account balance. When selecting the PayPal option, customers are directed to PayPal's website where they log into their account to confirm the transaction and then go back to American Airlines' website to end their transaction. The PayPal option has been made available to customers in the US, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. American Airlines customers have access to other payment methods as well, including credit or debit cards, American Airlines gift cards, electronic checks, as well as The Fly Now, Pay Later payment option which enables customers to apply for instant credit and enjoy six months of no payments for tickets bought on the internet.
According to the company, American Airlines' website registers over 1.6 million site visits per day. American Airlines, American Eagle and the AmericanConnection airlines serve 250 cities in 40 countries.
