American Express has entered an agreement with Isis, a US mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, to make the US Consumer, OPEN Small Business and Serve cards available in the latter’s mobile wallet.

Under the agreement, American Express’ digital payments and commerce platform is set to be added into the Isis Mobile Wallet, allowing card members to shop, tap and pay with their mobile devices equipped with Near Field Communications (NFC) technology.

In July 2011, American Express joined the Isis mobile commerce platform, enabling consumers and merchants to operate payments via Isis-enabled phones and payment terminals in place.

In recent news, American Express has launched a reloadable prepaid card available in Barnes & Noble college bookstores across the US dubbed American Express Campus Edition Prepaid Card.
